About Ogden EV Charger Pros

A local, EV-only resource for Ogden, South Ogden, North Ogden and Eden, and one simple way to get a charger installed right.

Why we exist

More Ogden-area drivers are bringing home electric cars and trucks, and almost every one of them needs the same thing: a Level 2 charger on a circuit that fits the car, the charger and the house. That sounds simple. In practice, homeowners run into the same problems over and over.

  • Quotes that don't line up. One includes the charger, one includes the permit, one includes neither, and none explains why.
  • Panel upgrades by default. A load calculation, a lower amperage setting or a load management device can often avoid one, but those options rarely get mentioned.
  • Generic advice. General electricians and national installer networks don't always know which onboard charger your truck has, or that Eden permits now go through Ogden Valley City.
  • Out-of-date incentives. Plenty of sites still advertise a Rocky Mountain Power home charger rebate that ended on January 1, 2026.

We started Ogden EV Charger Pros to cut through that: one place focused only on EV charging in four communities, with guides that explain the decisions, and one quote request that gets a local installer looking at your actual car, panel and garage.

How it works

  1. Tell us about the job. The quote form asks for your car, your charger if you have one, your city, and two optional photos: your open panel and the spot where you park.
  2. We review it. The car's onboard charger, the panel photo and the location tell us most of what decides the circuit size and the route.
  3. You get a quote from a local installer. The installer confirms panel capacity and the wire route, and prices the job. The quote lists the charger, materials, labor and permit separately.
  4. Install, permit and inspection. The work is permitted with Ogden City, South Ogden, North Ogden or Ogden Valley City, installed, tested and inspected.
  5. No pressure. Requesting a quote doesn't commit you to anything.

What we look for in installers

The installer who shows up matters more than any charger brand. These are the standards we hold installers to:

  • A Utah-licensed electrical contractor, verifiable on the Utah Division of Professional Licensing lookup, with liability insurance.
  • Every job permitted and inspected where the city requires it. No skipping the permit to save a few dollars.
  • EV charging experience: sizing circuits to onboard chargers, commissioning Tesla, ChargePoint, Wallbox, Emporia and other units, and setting amperage to match the breaker.
  • A load calculation, and load management priced as an option, before any panel or service upgrade is recommended.
  • Local to the Ogden area, so the same people are around if something needs attention later.

What you can expect from us

  • Sized to your car, not to the biggest box. If your car accepts 32 amps, a 60 amp circuit buys nothing. If a 48 amp setup is the right call, we say why.
  • Honest about panels. A panel upgrade is the answer when the numbers say it is, not by default.
  • Brand-neutral advice. Our charger guides compare Tesla, ChargePoint, Wallbox, Emporia, Grizzl-E, Autel and others on specs, not on who pays the most. No brand affiliation is implied.
  • No pressure. Ask questions, compare quotes, take your time.
  • Local detail. Permit offices, Rocky Mountain Power rates and programs, Ogden's older detached garages and Eden's winters are part of every recommendation.

How we research our guides

Charging specs, connector standards, utility programs and permit processes change. Our guides are built from primary sources: vehicle and charger makers' manuals and spec sheets, Rocky Mountain Power's tariffs, city building department pages, Utah Code and summaries of the National Electrical Code. Every page lists its sources with the date we checked them, and anything we could not confirm is left out rather than guessed.

Spot something out of date? Call us and we will check it and fix the page.
