EV Charging Tools

Plan your home charging setup before anyone visits: how long it takes, which charger fits, and whether your panel has room.

How to use these tools

Start with the charger finder to see the circuit your car can use, check the time calculator to see whether a smaller circuit would still refill your day's driving, then run the panel checker. The complexity estimator shows what will drive your quote.

Where the numbers come from

Vehicle onboard charger ratings, battery sizes and charge ports come from automaker spec sheets, order guides and owner's manuals, the same sources cited on each vehicle page. Charger amperage, connectors and install types come from each manufacturer's datasheet or installation manual. Where an automaker's own pages disagree, or a trim's rating isn't published, the tools say so or leave that trim out rather than guess.

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is stored or sent unless you choose to request a quote.

The tools use verified specifications from our vehicle guides and charger guides. For the full background, see the EV charging guide and cost guides.

EV charging tools questions

Are these tools accurate enough to plan an install?

They are built on verified automaker and charger specifications and standard electrical math, so they are good for planning and comparing options. Final circuit sizing and panel capacity come from an electrician's load calculation at your home.

Do the tools collect my information?

No. The calculators run in your browser and nothing you enter is sent anywhere unless you choose to request a quote.

My car isn't listed. What now?

The charging time calculator accepts your own battery and onboard charger figures from your owner's manual. We add vehicles to the list once their charging specs are verified from the automaker.
