Eden (Ogden Valley City)
Home charging in Eden, Liberty and Wolf Creek: Ogden Valley City permits, Pineview-level winters and what second-home owners should plan for.
We install home and business EV chargers in four places: Ogden, South Ogden, North Ogden and Eden in Ogden Valley City.

Ogden, South Ogden, North Ogden and Eden, which since December 2025 is part of Ogden Valley City along with Liberty and Wolf Creek. Each has its own permit office, and the housing and weather differ enough between the bench and the valley that the same charger can need a different install in each place.
Ogden has the oldest homes of the four. Census estimates for 2020 to 2024 put the median build year at 1966, with about 44 percent built before 1960. City neighborhood plans describe early bungalows and 1950s ranches with detached rear garages, so longer circuit runs and older panels are common questions here. Permits go through Ogden City's EnerGov portal. EV charger installation in Ogden.
South Ogden's General Plan notes a 1940s housing boom tied to the city's proximity to Hill Air Force Base. Today the median home dates from 1979, and about a quarter were built before 1960, so panel age varies a lot from street to street. South Ogden issues its own electrical permits through iWorQ. North Ogden is the newest of the cities, with a 1993 median build year and most homes single-family detached, from the Hillside neighborhood under Ben Lomond Peak to Old Town. Here the bigger question is often jurisdiction: the city's General Plan says Coldwater and Southtown are pocketed with unincorporated Weber County parcels. EV charger installation in North Ogden.
Eden is a different climate. NOAA normals for Pineview Dam show a January average low of 9.5°F, about 16 nights a year at or below zero and roughly 108 inches of snow, against 21.9°F in Ogden. Permits now go through Ogden Valley City, not Weber County. Snow placement, second-home scheduling and long runs to outbuildings shape these installs. EV charger installation in Eden.
The city on your mail is not always the city that issues your permit. Ogden City asks applicants to verify their address on the Weber County GIS map before applying. North Ogden has unincorporated county pockets, and the Ogden Valley City boundary does not follow mailing names, so look up the parcel before you or your electrician apply.
For valley addresses, the Ogden Valley City GIS map shows the city limits. Huntsville town is a separate town, and Powder Mountain sits outside Ogden Valley City. The EV charger permits by city page lists each office, portal and phone number, and the Ogden EV charging guide covers rates and incentives across all four.

Ogden, South Ogden, North Ogden and Eden, which is now part of Ogden Valley City along with Liberty and Wolf Creek. That includes Ogden's neighborhoods from Jefferson and East Central to Mount Ogden, Taylor and Southeast Ogden. If your address is close to one of these but outside it, ask and we will tell you.
Use the Weber County GIS map, which Ogden City itself points applicants to, or the Ogden Valley City GIS map for valley addresses. Mailing names can mislead: some North Ogden addresses are unincorporated county parcels, and an Eden or Huntsville mailing address does not by itself tell you whether the parcel is in Ogden Valley City.
Indirectly. Each city sets its own permit fees and process, but the bigger cost drivers are the house itself: panel capacity, the distance from the panel to where you park, and whether the garage is detached. A detached garage or outbuilding means a longer run than an attached garage next to the panel.
