EV Charger Installation Estimator

Six quick questions sort your install into simple, moderate or involved, and show which factors will drive the quote.

How the estimator sorts your job

Each answer adds points for labor or materials: distance, location, a hard route, panel space and charger size. A low total means a short, simple run. A high total means several factors stack up, such as a detached garage, trenching or panel work, so an itemized quote matters more.

It shows no prices on purpose. Our installation cost guide explains each factor and cites dated national averages. Specific situations have their own guides: detached garages, outdoor installs and panel upgrades.

Installation estimator questions

Why doesn't the estimator show a price?

Because a fair number depends on details a form can't see: your exact panel, the wire route, finished walls and your city's permit. A wrong price is worse than none. The estimator shows how involved the job is and which factors will drive the quote.

What makes an install involved?

Usually distance plus a hard route: a detached garage that needs trenching, a long run through finished walls, or a panel without room or capacity. Each one adds labor or materials, and they stack.

How do I get an actual price?

Request a quote with your car model, the charger you want, and photos of your open panel and the charger location. Those details let an electrician size the circuit and price the route.
